Harry Cory Wright, an acclaimed landscape photographer from north Norfolk, is well known for his dramatic two metre prints of the British Isles.

On Wednesday, 23 April, 2008, he stars in a programme created for the BBC's Made In England series, to be aired at 10.35pm on BBC1 in the East and West.

More than 10 years ago Harry started using a 10x8 inch plate camera. Since then, he's travelled throughout the UK with one purpose - to be immersed in its variety of natural landscapes.

The half-hour programme sees Harry exploring the beaches and marshlands of north Norfolk, attempting to capture the essence of the natural landscape in one telling final shot.

Followed by a camera crew, he then drives across England to the heart of Bristol where he discovers a contrasting environment. There he has to find a second picture, which captures a very different mood.

Different landscapes

The 44-year-old, who runs his own gallery in Norfolk, is used to working in the windswept wilds of the county.

His journey to Bristol sees him discover not only a very different landscape, but also a new interest in the inner-city environment and perhaps the beginning of a different direction to his work.

"The picture I took in Bristol is bold. I see a city in flux - a real moment in time. That's something I look for in all pictures I take and that is how I see England - a place of shifting times," he said.

"The two pictures are a total contrast. However, the picture I took in Bristol has uncanny parallels with the Norfolk picture - the lines of movement in the pictures, the sheer quantity of things going on, the same pulses of life," he added.
