The Blast media village comes to Norwich

Blast returns and you can get on board

If you love a roadshow, you'll love Blast On Tour. The monster truck is coming back to Norwich in May 2007 as part of its UK tour and you're invited to climb aboard to get your creativity showcased with the BBC. Book now to take part.

The mighty Blast mobile studio rolls up slap-bang in front of The Forum, on Millennium Plain, Norwich, from Thursday, 10 to Sunday, 13 May 2007, offering free workshops, creative surgeries and showcasing events for young people.

What is Blast?

Blast is the BBC's scheme to help you get creative. Whatever you're into – art, music, writing, filmmaking, dance or more – we can help you to go further.

Blast is designed for all abilities. Whether you're trying something creative for the first time or an emerging artist who wants to take things to the next level - BBC Blast can help.

Blast On Tour is a unique, mobile e-learning experience. The monster truck features a TV studio, editing facilities, a digital workshop area and separate performance space.

During the tour, industry professionals and local arts experts will run workshops and masterclasses to help you develop your creative talent. These events are FREE and are open to people of all ability levels.

The Blast tour is a place to develop new skills, work with and learn from others and make valuable contacts - all crucial in helping you make your mark on the creative industries in the future.

What’s on during the Norwich tour

Docu-style Filming

Would you like to story-board, shoot and edit a film? You'll get to work with one of the best VJ collectives and BBC industry professionals to produce a documentary all about Blast!

Singing Squad

Are you the next Jamelia? Have you got a better voice than Ne-Yo? Well then, why not put it to the test with our singing workshop. We'll record the end results and publish them online.

Dance

Has a bit of hip-hop slid into your regular dance moves? Or is a street style straight from India more your scene? Whatever, why not try your hand (and feet) at one of our dance workshops?

Rock

Are you in a band? Do you want to be? We're running both a rock school and a rock workshop, so you can find out what it's like to play live and what it takes to get a recording contract!

Radio

Find out what it's like to be on the end of a mic, what makes great radio, and how to present live broadcasts in this fast and furious action workshop run by BBC Radio experts.

Fashion

As ever, the fashion world leads and the rest of us follow! The catwalk has embraced global warming and recycling is the new black! Get to rip, shred, tie, tear old garments and turn them into new!

Plus, we'll have graffiti artists getting busy, you could appear in a film with BBC Voices, meet and chat to singer Polly Paulusma or with the band, Jake Stigers And The Velvet Roots and much, much more!

A majority of the creative work made during the time the Blast truck is in Norwich will be published on this website and in other parts of the BBC's output.

Get on. Get involved. Get in with Blast.
