Alex Brundle made his single seater debut on his home track at Snetterton in Formula Palmer Audi last weekend after a year in the T-car Saloon series and he loved it. "It's a great learning formula and it really helps you to get behind the wheel of something powerful with a big old turbo on the back of it and try and control some of those horses," he said. "It really gets you trained up. Obviously my dad helped a bit with some of that! He kicked me up the butt as well sometimes! "He always helps me out there and he's brutally honest too sometimes but I think he's got to give me a chance. I'll make him if he doesn't," he said. Alex also says the man in charge of Snetterton's parent company Motorsport Vision has been a great help as he makes his tentative steps in the sport. "Jonathan Palmer has helped me a lot too with a bit of track time and some advice," he said. The aim is to go all the way and repeat his father's successes, but for now, Brundle junior says he's still learning. "I'll stay in this formula maybe for next year and then look to move up the ranks a bit," he said. "It really depends how this year goes for me to be honest. I'm looking for an F1 drive in the future hopefully," he added. And nobody would be prouder than Dad if that happened. Picture credit: vincepettit.co.uk |
