Nicky Price

A former student at the UEA, Nicky has been working at BBC Radio Norfolk for six years.

Nicky spent her formative years in Worcester and admits to having her first snog on the banks of the River Severn.

Worcester was also the place where she had her first taste of broadcaster at the tender age of five she said happy birthday to her mum on the local radio station. With a cousin as a DJ on a station in Dubai and an uncle in hospital radio, broadcasting is in the blood!

Career change

A Sagittarian, Nicky's first job was on the Co-op checkouts, but she soon changed career paths and started answering the phones on the BBC Hereford and Worcester sports show.

During her student days in Nowich, she worked at the UEA student radio station Livewire.

After a brief spell in the north west, Nicky returned to Norfolk and has been heard on the airwaves in the county ever since reading the news, presenting programmes and even reporting from the Lords Pavilion (one of her favourite moments) when Norfolk won the Minor Counties trophy in 2001.

Nicky lists the Broads as her favourite place in Norfolk, but if she had the choice of anywhere in the world she would pick Lake Bled in Slovenia.

Sporty Price

Away from work, Nicky loves travelling and practicing her French on whoever will listen. She also enjoys working out at the gym and plays for the Aylsham netball team.

It's not all healthy mind you as she confesses to spending a lot of time with her friends – usually in the pub. Her favourite TV programme Coronation Street takes up a large portion of her free time too.

If she got stuck in a lift Nicky would like to be trapped with a hypnotist.

"They could make me believe I was somewhere else," she said.

Her worst habit is too much texting, but apparently there are no novelty ringtones on her phone.
