The Comedy Store: link
Alun Cochrane

The Comedy Store

The Comedy Store returns to The Forum this month with another quartet of quick-fire wit and will have just a little football flavour as well.

September’s Comedy Store kicks off a month long celebration of the beautiful game headed by The Homes of Football photographic exhibition which runs at The Forum from 17 September to 13 October.

If you’re not a football fan, don't worry as this feisty foursome have gags aplenty on subjects as diverse as computer jargon, kung-fu and karaoke bars when they make their appearance on Wednesday 15 September.

Comedian Tim Clark

MC for the night is Alun Cochrane.  All dimples and charisma, Alun mixes a flair for language, friendly storytelling and sharp one-liners with the odd brilliantly accurate impression.

Effortlessly funny, his cheeky smile can sweeten even the most revolting tales.  One of the finest comperes on the circuit, this immensely amiable comic has been tipped for great things.

Tim Clark makes a welcome return to The Forum.  One of the premier stand-ups at both Jongleurs and The Comedy Store, Tim’s encyclopedic sporting knowledge saw him co-host Channel 4’s Under The Moon and contribute to BBC 2’s Fantasy Football.

He reached cult status with his patient and personable portrayal of the Grim reaper in Virgin Atlantic’s award-winning ad campaign.

Kevin Day

Ex-Southend goalkeeper, Terry Alderton is comedy’s best-kept secret.  His astounding act is a riot of exuberant, loose-limbed physical comedy, extraordinary caricatures and acute impressions.

He combines stand-up with film, TV and radio, having starred in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, ITV’s London’s Burning and the host of his own football and music show on Capital Radio.

Topping the bill will be Kevin Day.  Kevin’s renowned for the breadth of his material, usually with a little political aside.

He has performed for Jesse Jackson, Cardinal Hume and was particularly pleased when Tony Blair asked him to cut out the politics!

His mix of cynical menace and Guardian-reading liberal values have seen him become one of the nations most versatile comics.  Writing credits include They Think It’s All Over and Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Kevin also presents Radio 5’s Live and Dangerous.

The Comedy Store is on at The Forum on Wednesday 15 September, 2004.

Tickets from The Forum: 01603 727922 or Theatre Royal Box Office on 01603 630000.
