Music lyrics - The Earlies
The Earlies - 'Bad is as Bad Does' [679 Recordings] Listen | Official site
The Earlies are a band that defies easy definition. But it hasn’t stopped people trying.
The group, who came to prominence in 2004 with the release of 'These Were The Earlies', have sent journalists the length and breadth of the English language in search of a description that captures their unique sound.
They have been called woozy cosmic wunderkinds who play free-wheeling orch-pop and have been compared to everyone from Brian Wilson to the Flaming Lips.
Their second album, 'The Enemy Chorus' was released in January 2007 and has been described by the band as heavier and harder than the last record. The band’s versatility has seen them record with King Creosote, Micah P Hinson and Plan B.
Lyrics: Bad Is As Bad Does
Please, help me breathe.
I can't see-eyes watering.
Dog black,
the creeping creep's at my feet
this silent sea cut by a heartbeat.
What wretched creature seeks
Head full of heat
oh how this seathes in me....
Let's go down
Go down.
Down to the place it hides
black as night.
Now you're shaking like leaves
been hiding out-deceit.
It can hear your heart beating.
It's got you fooled completely
you don't see these things
all night in alleys deep.
No
this thing won't sleep
showing it's teeth.
These bad thoughts gonna be
the death of me.
Bad is as bad does I tell you all over and over again.
Tell this hound to calm down.
He's been hanging around,
then running out at night.
