Northern Ireland Comedy Unit

The Northern Ireland Comedy Unit was formed eighteen months ago, as part of the BBC's commitment to comedy. In a short period of time the unit has identified and established links with creative talent in Ireland and beyond.


Recently, the Northern Ireland Comedy unit hosted two major masterclasses dealing with writing comedy and stand-up.

Comedy legends Marks & Gran created and wrote Goodnight Sweetheart, Birds Of A Feather, Shine On Harvey Moon and The New Statesman among many others.


In this masterclass they give advice on characters, comedy and intrigue.

Owen O'Neill

Owen O'Neill has performed stand-up in many countries, and appeared live on the David Letterman Show.
