Have you ever noticed how popular YouTube videos get stuck at 301+ views, before they suddenly jump up to thousands?

That's because Google, who owns the web site, want to make sure that when a video gets popular, all the views it gets are real.

Sometimes people try to make their videos look more popular, by using computer programs, or even buying views.

In the past the counter would pause at 301, while the checks were carried out.

What's changing?

They say they can now monitor views quicker than before, so they don't need to pause at 301 anymore.

They will continue to regularly check the videos, so that they can still remove any false views.
