The young footballers were rewarded with an open top bus tour around their home town

A primary school football team enjoyed an open-top bus tour around their home town in Essex after winning a national competition.

Buttsbury Juniors under-12 boys team won the Danone Nations Cup, the world's largest competition for players aged 10 to 12, seeing off more than 1,500 other sides.

The celebratory parade was kept secret from the boys until it turned up outside their school.

Head teacher Ann Robinson said: "It was a great end to the school year."
