These amazing pictures show how a Hong Kong Jewellery designer's managed to carve a face inside a priceless jewel.

It's the latest masterpiece from Chinese artist Wallace Chan.

He trained as a sculptor's apprentice when he was 16 then taught himself how to cut diamonds using traditional tools and laser technology.

He burned the face of a Greek goddess into the middle of this huge sapphire using a special laser.
