The World Cup started with a spectacular and colourful show at the Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Thursday.
Dancers flooded into the stadium dressed as water droplets, representing the Amazon river which flows through Brazil.
The bright costumes represented the trees and colourful flowers which decorate Brazil's natural landscape.
In the spirit of the competition, some of the dancers were dressed as footballs.
Just like real footballs they were cast high into the air in an energetic aerobic display.
The centrepiece of the ceremony was a huge LED globe which was illuminated with changing patterns.
At one point it transformed into a Brazuca - the official football of the competition.
Then it peeled into segments like an orange to reveal performers inside.
US singer Jennifer Lopez appeared with rapper Pitbull and Brazilian singer Cláudia Leitte. They performed the World Cup song We Are One.
660 dancers took part in the show - and the fans got dressed up for the occasion too.
Let's hope the people behind this Mexican fan could still see the show!
