Rare birth for gorilla in America

Help

A baby gorilla has been delivered by a rare animal operation at San Diego Zoo in America.

Eighteen-year-old mother Imani was having trouble giving birth so an operation was needed - which is rare for animals.

A two kilogram female gorilla was born and the little creature is being cared for at a veterinary hospital. Mother Imani is said to be recovering too.

San Diego Zoo is now home to eight gorillas, including the newborn.
