Amazing pics of Abdullah Sholeh and his best friend Mulan Jamilah, a Bengal tiger! It's a real life Jungle Book story.
Meet Abdullah Sholeh and his best friend Mulan Jamilah, a Bengal tiger! The pair met 6 years ago when Abdullah was asked to take care of Mulan by her owner and they have been inseparable ever since.
Mulan lives in Malang, East Java in Indonesia. She weighs 178kg and is three metres long, including her tail which is one metre high.
Abdullah began caring for the tiger when she was a 3-month-old cub. Mulan is fed 6kg of chicken or goat meat twice a day.
Abdullah regularly plays and fights with Mulan. Tigers are the largest members of the cat family and are known for their strength. They usually live alone and some have been known to hunt people, but Abdullah has created a special bond with Mulan.
For security reasons, they have had to install metal bars to separate the friends when they are together in the enclosure. But the the pair are so inseparable, Abdullah often sleeps alongside Mulan in her enclosure.
Don't try this at home! Hunting and the destruction of animal habitats have reduced tiger populations to fewer than 2,500. There are five remaining tiger subspecies left and all are endangered. Luckily for Mulan she has a good friend to look out for her.
