Women dominate New Year's Honours

Katherine Jenkins, Rachel Yankey and Karren Brady have been recognised in the New Year's Honours list - which for the first time includes more women than men.

611 women have been recognised and make up 51% of the list.

Singer Katherine Jenkins and footballer Rachel Yankey were awarded an OBE and Apprentice star Karren Brady received a CBE for services to entrepreneurship and women in business.

Doctor Marcus Setchell, who oversaw the birth of Prince George was given a special honour by the Queen.

He was made a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.

The creator of Moshi Monsters, Michael Acton Smith has also been awarded an OBE in the New Year Honours list.
