The Queen receives flowers from a child actor as she inspects the horse puppet from the play War Horse, during a visit with Prince Philip to London's National Theatre to commemorate its 50th anniversary.
Now this is DIY... Zhu Runqiang sits in his home-made car in Hefei, Anhui province, in China. Inventor Zhu, 47, built the car with parts he collected from used vehicles. The car reaches a highest speed of 60km/h, according to local media.
An Indonesian boy clings on the dorsal fin of a beached whale shark as fishermen prepare to pull it back to the sea in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. The whale survived and was successfully released back into the sea.
A shot of mist swirling over a Cumbrian lake has taken the top prize in a national photography award. The image, Crummock Water Mists and Reflections, has seen Derbyshire's Tony Bennett named as the Take a View Landscape Photographer of the Year. Mr Bennett said the photograph captured "a moment in time, never to be repeated but always remembered".
