Policemen stand guard as fire rages at the International arrivals unit of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi, Kenya

A huge fire caused massive damage to Kenya's main international airport in the capital Nairobi, on Wednesday.

Jomo Kenyatta International Airport - a really important airport for East Africa - had to close, with passengers evacuated and flights diverted.

Emergency services have been criticised for the time they took to respond. So far no-one is thought to be injured and the cause of the fire isn't clear.

The airport has now reopened but passengers face severe delays.

Many long-distance flights land at the Nairobi airport to connect to other countries across East Africa, so the fire could have a big impact on Kenya's economy.
