Irish dancers have set a world record in Dublin for the largest Riverdance performance.

More than two thousand people from forty four countries gathered on the banks of the River Liffey yesterday.

The previous record of 652 people dancing in a continuous line was held by Nashville in the United States.

Dancers from as far away as Mexico, Japan and Uzbekistan travelled to Dublin to take part.
