Giant cupcake tribute to Nelson Mandela

Children have helped create the giant cupcake tribute.

A group of children and volunteers have created a giant cupcake tribute to Nelson Mandela.

The portrait of the former South African President Nelson Mandela has been made with 5,000 cupcakes.

It was created by children with cancer and volunteers from a charity in Johannesburg in South Africa as part of the celebrations for his 95th birthday on 18 July.

Nelson Mandela has been in hospital in Pretoria for the past five weeks.

Earlier this week, President Jacob Zuma said the former leader is "critical but stable".
