Kids in a Japanese city have been playing games in the mud to cool down in the heat - and their parents have organised it!

Around 60 children in Ono City, central Japan, have taken part in games such as tug-of-war and mud flag - where kids race to grab a flag - all in lots of mud.

Parents put on the event every year at a farm, as a way to help beat the hot summer weather.

They pour water on the ground to create the muddy venue.

One student said they liked falling into the nice, cool mud.
