"Touch and feel" 3D screen plans revealed by Microsoft

Microsoft 3D screen

Tech giants Microsoft have revealed their plans for a new 3D touchscreen that lets you 'feel' objects you see.

It will be a flat LCD screen with special force sensors detecting how a finger is touching the screen and the resistance pushing back.

Combined with a robotic arm that moves the screen backwards and forwards, it will simulate the shape and weight of the 3D object that you're seeing.

Microsoft say it could be used for gaming.
