Climate change creating MORE ice in Antarctica

Dutch scientists say climate change is creating MORE sea ice in Antarctica.

This might sound surprising as often climate change is blamed for causing the ice there to melt.

However experts think the increase is caused by melting beneath the Antarctic ice shelves. This water rises and accumulates in the top layer of the ocean.

The cool surface waters then re-freeze more easily during autumn and winter creating more ice.
