Traffic problems as rain hits NE England and N Wales

Heavy rain and flooding are causing problems for people travelling around north-east England and north Wales as the storm hits.

Lots of roads have been closed because of flooding and some trains have been cancelled or delayed.

There are about 200 flood warnings and 300 alerts are in place in England and Wales.

More than 800 homes were flooded over the weekend, most of them in south-west England.

One woman died in Exeter because of a falling tree.

Many roads have been closed because of flooding, mainly across south-west England and the Midlands.

Some train services in south-west England have also been affected.

The Prime Minister David Cameron tweeted: "Shocking scenes of flooding in Cornwall and around the country.

"Government will help ensure everything is being done to help."
