Bradley Wiggins

Tour de France champion Bradley Wiggins is back home following a night in hospital after a bike crash.

The 32 year-old Olympic gold medal winner broke a rib and an index finger in a collision with a car on Wednesday evening.

The Team Sky rider was kept in hospital overnight so medical staff could keep an eye on him.

The driver of the car was a local woman and wasn't injured. She's now helping the police with their inquiries.

Its not clear how the injuries will affect Wiggins' training for the 2013 season.

Team Sky said on their website: "The injuries he has sustained are not thought to be serious and he's expected to make a full and speedy recovery."
