Hayley meets a foster family

There needs to be more foster homes in the UK, according to the government.

Foster care is when a child goes to live with another family for a while, because their family can't look after them, which could be for a number of reasons.

But with the number of children in care rising every year, it's thought 10,000 more foster homes in the UK are needed.

Hayley's been to meet a foster family and a young person who's been fostered.
