The world's oldest flying fish fossils have been found in China.

Researchers think the strange, snub-nosed creature glided over water to escape from predators around 240 million years ago.

The team said the "exceptionally well-preserved fossils" can help them to learn more about what Earth was like when the creatures were alive.

They reckon the fossils are 27 million years older than any found before.
