Fat pets from around the UK have been involved in a competition to lose the most weight. The charity PDSA's Pet Fit Club has involved 46 dogs, 21 cats and a rabbit over the last seven years. They've lost the equivalent of more than 600 tins of dog food in weight. Take a look at some of the best slimmers in our gallery.
The PDSA (People's Dispensary for Sick Animals) is looking for fat pets to join this year's Pet Fit Club. In 2012 this Cavalier King Charles Spaniel called Jack was crowned the UK's pet slimming champ after shedding nearly a third of his bodyweight. The svelte spaniel lost 6.4kg.
Look at 'meow'! Fifi Bottomley, a black and white cat from Bradford, lost 22 per cent of her bodyweight - a whopping 2kg!
Billie’s love of food led him to pile on the pounds. The curvy canine was so fat he struggled to climb stairs.
Billie has now been Highly Commended by PDSA Pet Fit Club, after losing 6.9kg.
This is what Maverick the cat used to look like. The club say 86 per cent of cat owners give their feline friends treats including cake, cheese and chips.
Here's Maverick after giving up treats. Purr-fect!
Deco the dog used to find it difficult to run. The porky pup weighed a whopping 55kg.
Now Deco's full of energy, having lost 8kg.
Bobby the rabbit had a bad habit of stealing her partner’s food. Eventually her dewlap (the roll of skin under the chin) grew so big she had difficulty grooming herself properly.
Thanks to Pet Fit Club Bobby has lost 6cm from her waistline!
