Moonlight scares bats into hiding, new research suggests.

Scientists in Mexico carried out studies on bat behaviour from all over the world.

They found that bats living in moonlit places are much less active on bright nights, compared with those that live and hunt in darker places.

The scientists explain that brighter moonlight means the winged creatures can be more easily spotted by predators.
