Bradley Wiggins pulls out of Tour of Britain

Olympic gold medallist and Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins has dropped out of Tour of Britain due to illness.

He's had to withdraw from the race due to a stomach bug.

"I'm sorry I can't continue and would like to thank all those fans, of all ages, for the support," Wiggins said.

"I've loved the last six days. It's been a great experience but this bug sadly means I'll now miss the climax."

Wiggins is still expected to take part in the road cycling World Championships later this month after being named in Great Britain's nine man team.
