Steve Parry talks about the nerves before his big race

Some of the country's best athletes have been telling Newsround what it's like to be part of the biggest sporting event in the world, the Olympic Games.

British swimmer Steve Parry grabbed a bronze medal eight years ago in Athens in Greece, the original home of the Olympics.

Even though he was excited to be there, Steve found it nerve-wracking - he found it hard to eat anything and kept on needing to go to the loo!
