Darren Campbell's extra special gold medal

Some of the country's best athletes have been telling Newsround what it's like to be part of the biggest sporting event in the world, the Olympic Games.

Sprinter Darren Campbell remembers entering the stadium for his first ever Olympics final, with thousands of spectators in the crowds and not to mention the billions of people watching the race at home.

He didn't manage to win a medal then, but at the next Olympics he grabbed a silver medal and four years later he got the ultimate prize - a gold medal.
