Katharine describes the night she won an Olympic medal

Some of the country's best athletes have been telling Newsround what it's like to be part of the biggest sporting event in the world, the Olympic Games.

Katharine Merry grabbed bronze in the 400 metres at the Olympics in 2000, running in front of a packed stadium in Sydney, Australia.

The excitement of the night seemed to spur everyone on, with Katharine running the race in her fastest ever time.
