Locusts invade small town

A small town in the American state of California has been invaded by an estimated five million locusts.

The creatures, which are similar to grasshoppers, are known for their big appetites.

Their arrival in Herald, Sacramento County, is bad news for local farmers who grow crops.

For two weeks they have been eating everything in their path - including the sign outside one lady's house.

There are so many, local people say it's almost impossible to get rid of them.
