How British is the British Royal Family?

Britain's got thousands of years of history, but what does it mean to be British in 2012?

All week Nel is travelling around the country to work it out - and here is her second report.

She's looking into the history of our islands and our Royal Family with the help of Dan Snow, a history expert.

Throughout our history, Britain has been invaded, occupied by foreign armies and had loads of people coming and going.

And it's made Britain what it is today!
