The 2000s kicked off with massive festivities around the world to celebrate the new millennium.

A year later saw the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone - the first in what was to become the most successful film series ever.

We also saw the birth of the CBBC Channel, MP3s and social networking sites such as Facebook, Bebo and Club Penguin.

In Hayley's special report for our 40th birthday, she also recalls one of the biggest news stories of 10 years ago - the death of the Queen Mother.
