Newsround looks back at the 1970s

Leah takes a look back at the 1970s...

Newsround's 40 years old on Wednesday and all week we're looking back at how the world has changed since we first went on air in 1972.

Leah kicks the week off by exploring what was happening in the 1970s.

It was the decade when everyone went space mad. The first man had set foot on the moon in 1969 and during the 1970s there were five more moon landings.

Technology was changing quickly and it was all thanks to the silicon chip.

Computers got a lot smaller and cheaper.

Leah's been looking at all of this and more. Check out the video above to watch!
