August 1969 part 1

This week marks the fortieth anniversary of a date many regard as the start of the Troubles.

In August 1969 people were killed and wounded as violence spilled onto the streets around the sectarian faultlines in Londonderry and Belfast.

This week on BBC Newsline we'll see how some of those divisions have changed.

We begin our special series on August 1969 by hearing from some who recall that period and with some voices from the past.
