Jim McFadden murder

McFadden murder

James Meehan may have been convicted of murder by a court yesterday but he's still a free man - on the run.

The widow of his victim, Jim McFadden, says he's a coward for jumping bail.

We asked the Lord Chief Justice's Office how a man on trial for murder could have been given bail.

A spokesperson told BBC Newsline that Meehan was entitled to bail, that conditions were attached when it was granted and that he attended the court until the last two days of his trial.

The Police on both sides of the border are now looking for James Meehan who along with his wife and her son were found guilty of the murder in Londonderry.

Keiron Tourish reports.
