Cleaning up after the Ardoyne riots

Ardoyne riots

The police say there were clear attempts to kill officers during Monday night's rioting in north Belfast.

Twenty one policemen were injured. Water canon and baton rounds were used to break up the trouble, which saw officers under attack from petrol and blast bombs. A gunshot was also fired at them.

The police and Sinn Féin both blame dissident Republicans for orchestrating the riot as

Julian O'Neill reports.
