Twenty one policemen were injured. Water canon and baton rounds were used to break up the trouble, which saw officers under attack from petrol and blast bombs. A gunshot was also fired at them. The police and Sinn Féin both blame dissident Republicans for orchestrating the riot as Julian O'Neill reports.
