Very British ways to arrive at school prom

Scooters prom

Aspiring funeral director (yes, really) Megan Flaherty arrived at her prom in Pennsauken, New Jersey, in a coffin.

She emerged from the back of a hearse, carried by two undertakers. Dead classy.

It may not have been especially cheerful but it will surely mean she's remembered for all time at her school.

The teenager told local publication NJ that she likes "being different" and that she her prom date knew about the stunt.

Crazy prom arrivals are not just an American thing.

British students have been fighting back with even funnier stunts.

"We thought that instead of trying to impress people or go over the top with helicopters etc we would go for something a little more humorous," Matthew told the Manchester Evening News.

Emily arrived on horseback

And if you're really fancy, the only option is a helicopter

A group of boys arrived at their UK prom in a helicopter. Yes they did.

We're not assuming their parents are investment bankers and nor should you.

Outside the UK and US, there's competition too.

A couple in Bulgaria arrived to prom riding a digger and these boys in France got on board an enormous excavator to get to theirs.
