Former Power Rangers actor Ricardo Medina pleads not guilty to murder
Ex-Power Rangers actor Ricardo Medina has pleaded not guilty to murdering his roommate with a sword.
Prosecutors say Medina stabbed Joshua Sutter several times in the stomach last year at their house in Green Valley, a mountain town north of Los Angeles.
It's claimed the two were arguing over Medina's girlfriend.
He could face 26 years to life in prison if convicted.
Authorities say after the attack, Medina called emergency services and waited for police to arrive.
Speaking three days after the attack on January 31 in 2015, the actor said he was "very sorry".
Ricardo Medina, who played the Red Ranger on Power Rangers Wild Force in 2002, said he and a female friend locked themselves in his bedroom after a row with Joshua Sutter.
He claimed his flatmate kicked the door open, at which point he grabbed the sword to protect himself.
The actor, who was initially arrested after calling 911, denies murder.
The 37-year-old was also the voice of Deker on Power Rangers Samurai in 2011 and 2012.
