Chelsea crowned champions: Their season in numbers

Ahead of their title-deciding match with Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was confident his side would seal the Premier League.

"We've been top of the league since day one," he said before kick-off.

Well, it wasn't quite day one but it's safe to say the blues have had an impressive season.

Here's a quick one to 10 of their season.

All numbers are correct at the time Chelsea won the league (1500 BST) on 3 May.

One

Chelsea have only scored five goals in a game once this season, in a 5-0 win over Swansea. They have scored more than five on one occasion though beating Everton 6-3 in August.

They also conceded five goals in one game this season during a 5-3 defeat to Tottenham in January. It was the first time they had conceded that many goals under Mourinho.

It's also been five years since they last won the title.

The number of games second place Manchester City would have to win to overtake Chelsea. City are 16 points behind Mourinho's side.

Sergio Ag├╝ero is out in front with 21, Harry Kane is second with 20, while Hazard's team-mate Diego Costa is in third with 19.

Chelsea have scored 69 goals this season.

As things stand, Chelsea have the best goal difference in the league with 42. Manchester City are the next closest on 34. That's eight behind.

Eight is also the number of games Chelsea have drawn this season.

The number of months (nearly) Chelsea have been top of the table having been there since the second week of the season on 18 August.

Fact fans might also be interested to know Chelsea don't have a player wearing the number nine shirt in their squad this season.

Ten

Eden Hazard

In their last 10 games, Chelsea have only dropped three points.

It's also the shirt number of Eden Hazard, who scored the goal that sealed Chelsea's league win.

He's also got 10 assists to his name so far this season.
