Aerosmith to close Download Festival with Alter Bridge
Aerosmith have been announced as the final headliner for next year's Download rock festival.
They will close the Sunday night of the event with Avenged Sevenfold and Linkin Park already revealed as the Friday and Saturday night headliners.
Alter Bridge will play before Aerosmith with Fall Out Boy and Rob Zombie also due to perform.
Download will take place on the weekend of the 13-15 June 2014 at Donington Park in Leicestershire.
Aerosmith last headlined the festival in 2010.
Guitarist Joe Perry said: "It's been too long since we've been to England and we're sincerely charged to be coming back."
Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler was a judge on American Idol in 2011 and 2012 and is due to release a solo album next year.
Alter Bridge, featuring singer Myles Kennedy, last played the main stage at Download in 2011.
They released their fourth studio album, Fortress, earlier this year which made it to number six in the Official Albums Chart.
Slipknot, Iron Maiden and Rammstein headlined Download in 2013.
Early bird tickets for Download 2014 are on sale until 9am on 8 November.
