Abbey Clancy: Totally addicted to Strictly Come Dancing

Abbey Clancy says she's "totally addicted" to Strictly Come Dancing after starting training for the show.

Ahead of Saturday's launch Clancy, the wife of footballer Peter Crouch, said: "The thought of wearing all these mad colours and all the sparkle, I did find it quite daunting at the start.

"But after one day of it... I just want more glitter, more tan, more hair."

This year's Strictly line-up includes a mix of experienced dancers and novices.

Blisters, yes. Bruises, yes. I couldn't walk for two days after (the first day of training). But feeling good, just want to start now

Among the favourites for the series are former Coronation Street actress Natalie Gumede and Countdown presenter Rachel Riley.

Despite becoming a fan of the extravagant outfits and dance routines, Clancy, 27, says she found it hard to balance her training schedule and looking after her daughter Sophia.

"It was tough because I've obviously got a two year old baby and the thought of juggling her around and working all at the same time it was really upsetting for me," said the model from Liverpool.

"But I've got a great family who can take care of her and she'll be in nursery. I just want to get stuck in now, I want to do my best and put in as many hours as I can."

Clancy's husband Peter Crouch is famous for his robot-style dance celebration on the pitch.

She said she's already had a go at helping him out with some new routines.

"Well, when I know the moves myself then I might try and teach Pete some," Clancy said.

"He loves dancing, I love dancing. It's so much fun. I came home and tried to practise with him the other day but it just confused me."

Series 11 of Strictly Come Dancing starts on 7 September at 6.50pm on BBC One.
