Sam Evans has been crowned champion of Big Brother after winning the public vote.

The 23-year-old beat runner-up Dexter Koh, 28, and Gina Rio, 24, who finished third.

He has promised a quarter of his £100,000 prize money to charity, another quarter to his family and will keep the rest to invest in his future.

"I just can't believe it," he said, on leaving the house after 68 days, adding the experience was "amazing".

Dexter, who survived seven evictions, said he could not believe the public had kept him in the house for so long.

"I have no clue," he said. "I'd really like to know."

Charlie Travers, 26, was the first finalist to leave the house, putting her in fifth place.

She said "love you" to her housemates before walking out to huge cheers.

Identical twins Jack and Joe Glenny, 18 - who appeared on the show as one contestant - finished in fourth.

Gina Rio

Gina said she had changed a lot during her time in the programme.

"At first a lot of people were saying to me, 'You've really changed since the girl who walked through those doors on launch night', and I thought that was quite rude.

"I was like, 'You didn't know me before I came in so, why are you saying this?' But then I actually noticed, myself."

Earlier in the season Daley Ojuederie was removed from the house. The show also faced criticism for allowing Dan Neal, a former police officer, on the show.

Celebrity Big Brother, also on Channel 5, starts again on Thursday 22 August at 9pm. Details of the contestants have not been confirmed.
