Lady Gaga track charts at number 11 after seven hours
Lady Gaga has nearly reached the top 10 with her new single Applause, after it went on sale seven hours earlier.
The song, which was released early after being leaked, is at number 11 in the Official Midweek Chart.
The Official Charts Company says it sold 10,500 copies to midnight on Tuesday after its release that day.
Gaga described the rushed release as a "pop emergency" to her 40 million Twitter followers. Applause was officially due out on 19 August.
Ellie Goulding is on course to take the number one slot when the singles chart is announced on Sunday.
The 26-year-old is set to knock We Can't Stop by Miley Cyrus off the top spot.
