Matt Smith and David Tennant up for TVChoice Awards
Outgoing Doctor Who actor Matt Smith will take on his predecessor David Tennant for the best actor title at this year's TVChoice Awards.
The pair are shortlisted with Downton Abbey's Brendan Coyle and Mr Selfridge star Jeremy Piven.
Doctor Who's Jenna Coleman is in the running for best actress against Miranda Hart, Sheridan Smith and Olivia Colman.
Game Of Thrones is up against The Walking Dead for international show.
David Tennant, who is shortlisted for his role in Broadchurch, won the last time he and Smith went head-to-head at the event two years ago.
The ITV show also picked up a third nomination after being shortlisted for best new drama.
It is up against The Fall, Mr Selfridge and period detective series Ripper Street.
Doctor Who has three nominations after also making the shortlist for best drama series, alongside Call The Midwife, Downton Abbey and Waterloo Road.
Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, Celebrity Juice, The Graham Norton Show and Russell Howard's Good News are up against each other in the best entertainment category,
Geordie duo Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are nominated for two other prizes as Britain's Got Talent is up for best talent show and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! is up for best reality show - both of which they present.
The event, being staged at London's Dorchester Hotel in September, will be hosted by actor Ben Miller.
