Calvin Harris headlines the first night of Big Weekend
Calvin Harris closed the first day of Radio 1's Big Weekend in Londonderry.
The DJ headlined with a 60-minute set which included his biggest hits Bounce, Drinking From The Bottle and We Found Love.
Earlier in the day, there had been widespread travel problems for many acts following runway closures at Heathrow airport.
It meant AlunaGeorge and Angel Haze had to cancel their appearances.
Other artists, such as Chase & Status, chartered private jets to get some of the acts to Ebrington Square.
Speaking after his set, Calvin Harris said he had a "fantastic time" and "hoped he lived up to the crowd's expectations."
Calvin's set list included
- Rudimental - Waiting All Night
- Florence and the Machine - Spectrum
- Justice vs Simian - We are Your friends
- Calvin Harris - Flashback
- Calvin Harris - Bounce
- Calvin Harris feat. Tinie Tempah - Drinking From The Bottle
- Basement Jaxx - Where's Your Head At?
- Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris - We Found Love
- Axwell - In My Mind
- Example and Calvin Harris - We'll Be Coming Back
- Nero - Promises
- Otto Knows - Million Voices
- Calvin Harris feat. Ellie Goulding - I Need Your Love
- Calvin Harris feat. Ne-Yo - Let's go
"I knew it was going to be good because I know the Derry crowd are up for it because I've played here a couple of times before."
Despite losing most of their equipment during the day, Rudimental made it on stage by borrowing items from other acts.
"We had to borrow stuff from Chase and Status and Angel Haze but we pulled it out the bag," said producer Amir Amor.
"We borrowed guitars, bass, microphones, a bit of love! Everything we could. But the gig just blew us away."
Earlier, Dizzee Rascal surprised the crowd by bringing Robbie Williams on stage for a performance of their new single together, Goin' Crazy.
"We smacked it, just the energy as soon as we got on, it was crazy," the rapper said.
"It was wired. I can't ask for much more than that." He added, "It's Robbie Williams isn't it!"
Around 12,000 people attended the first of three days at the Big Weekend.
James Woods and Hannah Davidson, both 18, were at the front of the queue. James said: "I feel absolutely amazing - we are the first people here."
Hannah added: "The buzz in the city is amazing."
On day two Biffy Clyro, Labrinth, DJ Fresh and Alt-J are among the acts due to perform.
Gates will open at around midday in Derry on both Saturday and Sunday, 25 and 26 May.
