The Wanted to headline new pop festival SD2 in Brighton

The Wanted

The Wanted have been announced as the headliners of a new one day pop festival taking place at Stanmer Park in Brighton on 29 September.

The Saturdays have also been confirmed to take part with more acts to be announced over the coming weeks.

Tickets will go on sale Friday 23 May when one more act will also be revealed.

Organiser Matt Priest said: "We have assembled some of the best pop acts the UK has to offer."

The boy band are currently in Japan promoting their self-titled debut album which has just been released there.

They are still without Nathan Sykes, who had an operation on his throat for a haemorrhaged vocal cord in April in Los Angeles.

Siva Kaneswaran previously told Newsbeat the rest of the band don't know how long it will take for the 20 year old to recover.

"It takes a long time to heal properly," he said.

"He might not be able to sing at all, who knows? You've just got to wait and see."

Nathan recently changed the biography on his twitter to read: "Don't know what the future holds. Staying positive and hoping for the best! Love to all the fans."
