Kimberley Walsh denies being 'suffocated' in Girls Aloud
Kimberley Walsh has said no members of Girls Aloud ever felt "suffocated".
The 31-year-old was referring to a magazine interview given by her former band mate Sarah Harding, who said she had felt "suffocated" on the group's recent reunion tour.
Kimberley Walsh said the quote had been "taken out of context".
She made the comments at the premiere of her latest film, All Stars. "It just felt like the right time to close the chapter," she said.
"I don't think anybody felt suffocated in the band, I think it's just a kind of quote that's got taken a bit out of context."
Girls Aloud split up in March after completing their 10-year anniversary UK tour.
In an interview with Look magazine, Sarah Harding said: "We've just had eight weeks of being together non-stop, so it's nice to have a break.
"It's like being sisters - after a while you feel a little bit suffocated."
Walsh said the interview was one of the reasons that she decided to write her autobiography.
She said her autobiography was going "really, really well".
"I'm just being as truthful and as honest as I can be and hopefully people will be interested in that."
The Strictly Come Dancing star also revealed she was planning a solo tour to promote her album of West End musical theatre songs.
