Producer: Birdy success is 'inevitable' like Adele
Producer Ryan Tedder has likened the experience of working with British star Birdy to that of Adele and Beyonce.
Tedder, lead singer with US group OneRepublic, said it's "inevitable" that the 16-year-old will go on to have huge success.
He said: "If I'm going to pursue an artist there has to be something inevitable about them.
"Adele was inevitable, Beyonce was inevitable, Birdy's inevitable."
Birdy's self-titled 2011 debut album featured cover versions of songs by artists like Phoenix, Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes.
"The difference between her now and when they made that album two years ago is night and day," said Tedder.
"There was the nervous, awkward girl in a sun dress. Now she walks in the studio and it's like she's 16 going on 23."
Tedder confirmed the pair had worked on three tracks together in a studio in Los Angeles.
"The people who're working on this album is blowing my mind - I'm envious of the people who're lining up to work with her. I said to her, 'You have no idea of how incredible this is'.
"If she sings the right lyrics and the right melody the hair on every part of your body will stand on end.
"She has this inevitability about her."
